I Don't Always Get Kicked Out of Facebook Groups...but When I do....

So I got kicked out of a Mompreneur group today called Mompact. It's a secret group for moms who've invented products to get information, support, and encouragement from their peers. Mostly it's for Shelley, the group owner, to make herself look like an expert when she's not. She actually has never brought a product to market herself. In fact, she has yet to finish anything she's started. But she did see fit to give herself an "honorary MBA" for her experience in researching and having her product manufactured but never launched. She decided that it was going to be too hard so she didn't do it. This is her MO. Every time something looks like it has any degree of difficulty to it, she changes directions. She did it when she started the group too. She enticed everyone into the group by saying she could she would get us in Target. As soon as that looked a little more difficult than she'd planned, she switched tracks and decided to try Walgreens or Walmart. Still a no-go because she didn't think the logistics through before getting everyone else hyped up about it. Now she's trying some direct sales tactic where she runs an MLM type company with consultants having parties and whatnot. She doesn't realize it won't work. It's been done and it didn't sell then either. The only thing she did do right is to bring all of us moms together. Too bad she's still got some of them are still convinced that she's some kind of expert.

So I bet you're wondering how I got kicked out. Well it goes a little something like this... My assistant has started her own company, completely separate from our business, running blog campaigns. You can see what she does at www.RunMyBlogCampaign.com. It's a brilliant idea for a business since it takes very little capital and she already has all the connections and experience from working for us. We are very supportive of anyone that wants to start a business. So I decided to post on the Mompact page that I use a company to run my blog campaigns and the results are wonderful, yada yada yada. Well that didn't go over very well with Shelley. She runs a similar service but it's badly done. She charged us all to be a part of this blog hop and not all the bloggers were quality. Most didn't have a clue how to write something original so they just copied from our website. Sure, you can have a hundred moms talking about it, but if they don't have anyone listening to them, what good is it to you. She doesn't know how to vet bloggers correctly. She says in her post, Are Corporations Killing Bloggers (you can Google it, but I won't be giving her any link love), "Companies seeking bloggers, look past the traffic numbers." That's a mistake. The blog should be fully vetted; numbers, post quality, adverts, everything. But she didn't even do that with her blog hop that she charged for.

I think my assistant is onto something good. This is the only aspect of what Shelley does, or claims to do, that my assistant could be considered in competition with. There are other products that are competing within the group, but as long as they don't compete with her... Well I will let you see for yourself.

I think she may have gotten pissed that no one stood up for her. She kicked me out of the group and deleted the post (or as many of us have come to know it; she pulled a "Prince Lionheart").
She made herself look bad. But to save face, she deleted the post before many of the group could see it. Some did see it though. And for those who didn't, just read the screenshots I took from my phone just seconds before she kicked me out. It's all there.
I get really tired of these people that try to make themselves look like experts when they are not. The only reason I stayed in the group as long as I did was to hang out with the wonderful women I got to know over the past 8 months.
And if you want to know the truth about Shelley, just look at what she's done so far. Or more to the point, what she hasn't done. Buyer beware...
